How to edit a PDF online: change text, add images and fix links
Fix a wrong number, update a date, add a logo or change a link in a PDF without the original Word file. What works well and what to watch out for.

You spot a typo in an invoice, the due date changed, or a payment link points to the old page, and the original Word file is long gone. Instead of rebuilding the document, edit the PDF directly.
Edit a PDF in 4 steps
- Open Edit PDF and choose your file. It opens in your browser.
- Click Edit text, then click the line you want to change and type the new words.
- Use Add text, Add image, Cover and Add link for anything else. Links that are already in the PDF are listed under the pages, where you can change or remove them.
- Click Save PDF. The edited file downloads right away.

What works best
- Short changes: names, amounts, dates, reference numbers, a sentence or two.
- Adding things: a logo, a stamp image, a note, a signature image or a new link.
- Fixing links: update an outdated URL or remove a broken one.
Good to know
- Changed text uses a standard font (Helvetica, Times or Courier) at the same size and position. It looks close to the original but may not be identical.
- For long rewrites, convert with PDF to Word, edit there, and convert back.
- Cover hides, it does not delete. The original text is still in the file and can be copied out. Never use it to hide passwords, ID numbers or other secrets.
- Scanned PDFs are images, so there is no text to click. Cover the area and add new text on top, or run OCR first.
The PDF opens in your browser while you edit. When you save, it is processed in memory and deleted right after; credits are only used when you save.
