How to convert a Word document to PDF (and keep the layout)
Turn DOCX, DOC, ODT or RTF files into a PDF that looks the same on every device, without installing anything.
· 4 min read
A Word file can look different on every computer: fonts get replaced, tables shift, page breaks move. A PDF fixes the layout, so what you send is what the other person sees. Most portals and many employers also ask for PDF.
Convert in 3 steps
- Open Word to PDF and upload a DOCX, DOC, ODT or RTF file (max 10 MB).
- Click Process.
- Download the PDF.

Tips for a perfect result
- Common fonts such as Calibri, Cambria, Arial and Times New Roman are matched with metric-compatible fonts, so line breaks stay the same.
- Remove any document password in Word first; protected files cannot be converted.
- Accept or reject tracked changes before converting if you do not want them visible.
What to do next
Combine the PDF with other documents using Merge PDF, or add a Verify Stamp to a final contract or offer so the recipient can check it was not changed.
Your document is processed in memory and deleted right after conversion.
